Vernacular Regions

This region is divided in to three parts.

1. Southeast Asia

Southeast Asia includes Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Phillipines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

2. Pacific Islands

The area inclosed with boxes and shapes is the region called the Pacific Islands. There are so many islands that they will not be listed here.

3. Australia and New Zealand

This map shows the two countries of Australia and New Zealand.

Functional Regions

The following map of Australia is a Functional map. This map shows the rail routes in Australia. We can see that on this map, there are more rail routes situated on the eastern side of Australia, but as it extends out to the west, there are less and less rail routes. Thus, the rail routes diminished over distance.
